Holly Hills Police Department Rises to The Challenge

A Police Officer in Daytona, Florida reported to work expecting the unexpected, and that is exactly what Officer Kristin McCorkle encountered on one special day.

Officer McCorkle responded to a call for service of medical distress and found a mother in labor who was in immediate need of medical attention. New mommy, "Sage"; was in the middle of a Walgreens parking lot where her newborn would bless our world and thrust Chief of Police Jeff Miller's beloved Holly Hills Police Department onto the world stage of professional and well trained police officers.

With her calm and deliberate voice, Officer McCorkle would provide instructions and assistance that would result in a life saving moment for "Sage" and her baby boy, "Chase". Officer McCorkle's supervisor arrived and together worked diligently to continue care until EMT would arrive. The mother and newborn were rushed to the hospital where they were later released.

PSTA salutes Officer McCorkle for her heroic actions and service to the community. She is a fine example of the law enforcement professionals working at the Holly Hills Police Department that serve their community with distinction. The Holly Hills Police Department is commanded by Police Chief Jeff Miller. He is a progressive and respected professional in the community of law enforcement and PSTA salutes his leadership and careful recruitment of his department's personnel.

Officer McCorkle is a shining example of professional and trained policing in America and beyond. Watch the heartwarming and exciting body worn camera video of Officer McCorkle's amazing response, which is worthy of this week's PSTA Hero of The Week recognition.

Congratulations Officer McCorkle and Chief of Police Jeff Miller for choosing to serve as law enforcement professionals.
